March 16, 2023                                     DOWN 14 POUNDS

It's 4:00am.  I have been up since about 1:00am.  I don't know why, but I can't sleep.

I had my post op appointment with my doctor yesterday.  Cindy (Grammys) took me to the doctor.  I can't thank her enough.  She has been amazing.  It went very well.  I lost 14 pounds is 6 days.  I honestly do not know what I was expecting, but I was not expecting that much of a weight loss in the first week.  Needless to say, I am very happy with the results.  He did put me back on the blood pressure medication for now, my blood pressure was a little high.  I can start driving again and he cleared me to go back to work, from home, starting Monday.

I am feeling amazing.  The pain is almost completely gone.  I need to start increasing the amount of protein shake I take in.  It is difficult to take in the amount of clear liquids and protein shake that is needed.  I always feel full. One of the things they talked about that is common with this surgery is "sugar dumping".  I read up on it and was fully expecting it to happen, but I have not had any symptoms of sugar dumping, so I am very pleased with that.

On the way to the doctor today, Cindy and I were talking and I told her that one of my goals is to ride a bike on the boardwalk.  I will do this some day in the future!

The last year that I lived in Wisconsin, I taught water aerobics.  I would really like to find a place that I can teach water aerobics here in San Diego.  It is great exercise and I really enjoyed teaching it, so that is something I need to look into.

I have been trying to go for a small walk each day.  Today my goal is to go for a walk in the morning and another walk in the evening.
